not a bad spot, lots of freeware and reviews as well.

you will need to go there on your droid to download the apps.

Be careful running 3rd party programs that unlock you droid, as you may void the terms of you carriers warranty. I know Big Pond get very grumpy when you mess with "their products" .

Having said that, have fun as android products are great to use.

rooting a android phone is like jail breaking a iphone

just allows the user to install completely different versions of the operating system and to gain administrative privileges.

it also allows you to install cool and useful "root only" apps like wifi hot spot
and allows you to store your apps on the microsd card.

Root is the highest level authority for Linux way higher than the windows equivalent "admin"

android is based on linux.

andriod ftw.

i have a htc desire, and yes it eats the iphone4 in every way. nom nom nom.

good app ive found is google tracks.

turn on ya gps and even if youre out of phone coverage it will plot your track and give heaps of awesome stats etc. Can use it basically as a proper GPS plotter.

skymap is pretty cool for wank factor too.

i also love good old angry birds haha.

ps, update to andriod 2.2 (froyo) if you havent already. Made the already rocketship even quicker :)

no havent used voice dialling yet. I spose i should give it a shot. All the other voice features like google voice search and stuff work well, so id say it should go okay.

i cant fault anything on 2.2 hey. Actually i cant really fault anything with my phone. I use it ALOT and she just keeps chugging along.

battery usage is ever so slightly better with 2.2, but still average, i get a day and a half out of my phone with constant use.

im a very happy andriod user.
