Well it looks likethe results of an old injury is coming back to haunt me,
slowly loosing the use of my left leg and also my back is starting to give out,
nerve damage many years ago and back then I was told I'd end up in a chair
( yeah many have said it should be an electric one hehehe)
So the outcome of all this is that I have to sell my Scary and Scamp to help fund an automatic with a few electrical extra's.
Bugger this looks as though it will be the shortest time I have ever owned a vechicle.

Sh*t Hylton that's not very good news but best make yourself the most comfortable whilst getting around. I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling them and hope you buy a nice Liberty

very sad Hylton, have you concidered selling one and getting an auto put in the other brumby?
or a nice liberty would fix the problem as well.

Bugger doesn't really cut it in this situation Hylton.
Is there some sort of massage that can help out the nerve even though its already damaged?
Hope it all works out the best for you

That is very sad to read Hylton.
Can nothing be done by the Medics or alternatives to ease this then ??
As Toonga said maybe you go auto in one of the Brumby's ? And a mild lift kit to help getting in and out (raised up for easier access??)
Or just go comfort in a Lib - again with a lift kit and big wheels to help your access?
Jeesh I hope you can get through this OK.
BTW Love those emails you just sent me-keep smiling matey

Hylton gets quite a kick out of his Brumbys and their following. Surely would not devalue it to shove an auto into it. Anyone got a good auto 4WD to suit? Do they fit in Brumby trans tunnel even?

Auto (Brumby) BRATS were sold in the good old US of A so we know it can be done - its just a case of how ? Any suggestions anyone ?
Would this suggestion interest you Hylton ?;)

May be a dumb question but all the MY and L Series wagons with auto tranny - they all had part time 4WD didn't they?
Auto L Series had a second pressed steel cross memeber more forward has the MY Brumby got these bolt points?
Hylton, if it has already come to that decision time and conversion is out of the question 'the concierge' is local and looking for a Brumby

Another option could be an auto XT Forester?
Just slide ya butt into the seat and only slight bending to get into the cargo area. I have a crook back too and the seat height means I don't have get up and down to get into my Forester.

G'day all,
thank you everyone for your well wishes and comments I really appreciate it.
I've thought about an auto conversion and also a lift kit for Scamp but and thats a big but the cost would more than likely be outside the realms of possibility on the pension.
I have also thought about a Forester however the service costs would be a stumbling block as I'm used to doing my own services on the older and not so complicated vehicles although sometimes Scamp has caused me to stop and think at times ehhehe I know bloody old fart not getting with the times.
In the good old buggered up US of A the Brumby/Brat did come out as an auto with push button electric selection single range four wheel drive in both the EA81 and EA81T.
Some time back I saw two auto Brumbys for sale one in Victoria and the other
in South Australia I don't know if they had been converted or imported as such.
My injuries resulted in breaking my back and another time getting caught
between a stand of drill pipe when the rig subsided on one side suddenly, holy crap what a mess that was plus I was bruised all down one side of my body. A couple of other things that happened in the past have all contributed to my current situation
Oh bugger here I am at 6.45am running of at the mouth time to shut my trap and go make myself a good old fashioned oil rig breakfast, bacon, eggs, pancakes with lashings of genuine maple syrup ehheeheh I still can laugh and love my tucker.
Well guys and girls have a great day take care stay well and luv your subies.

theconcierge tells me you have already offloaded the cheaper one ?? Saw a spot for it out front of my joint
I suppose stem cell repair job would get you going again in time.
Last time I looked at a Foz the sump plug is in same place as a Brumby's - at the bottom of the engine, and being a Subaru not much else needed. There are plenty of old blokes and wife driving turbo Fozzies so you would not look out of place.
get stuck in service you have the forum ....

Thanks for the thought Jonno but us young buggers on public health
don't count for much when it comes to our health system I've been waiting over 18 months for a prostate operation so stem cell replacement is not even
over the horizon.
What the heck I'm still walking just not climbing trees anymore ehhehe
