well basically end of last year at uni myself and another member on here stewbaru came up with the idea and built a "wakeboard winch" he wanted it as an alternative to a boat as its alot cheaper and i wanted it to tow into waves at a beach.. basically thought i'd chuck it up here and see what you boys thought as i'm doing everything possible to avoid studying at the moment
here's a few pictures of it in action:
and there is a few video's from when we first tested her out in the lake out the front of my house and nearby canning vale where we got into a heated argument with a young real estate agent trying to sell a house and our antics weren't helping but we insisted that nearby water sports facilities would only drive up the house price.

and one of me falling into questionable water in canning vale

nice stuff guys it is just what Perth needs for those summer days when the Indian Lake turns Triggs into a 1 foot southwest slushbowl and there are still 30 people to the square metre in the water.
I hope you put some sort of licensing on this

Thats cool...now all you need to do is build a big enough spud gun to get your tow rope back across the lake:)

awesome, but does if breaks down alot, id look at removing the apple sticker, anything with that logo on it tends to crap itself quickly
also, how do you anchor it down into the ground?

by the looks of your display picture vincent seems as though you do abit of wakeboarding and nice liberty

mine would look that that if it weren't for uni and the Po'-Po' .... we we're half considering trying to sell one or two to help get through uni but seems like the market for such a thing especially considering they're not really that cheap would be minimal...

also we've been on the look out for "drop offs" ( preferrably a change in heaight of greater then a metre) in lakes around the perth area if anyone knows of any above say a metre please fill us in with the details..

That is sooo cool.. Any chance of a crazily stupid sand boarding application? haha

yeh i mean we've skateboarded behind it... but im not sure how the clutch would go with resistance from sand ... only one way to find out a supppose smash a smash front sprocket on there get it doing 50kph

ahah i have seen something similiar used in place of chairlifts while in switzerland basically just like a winch to pull skiers up the hills.... i suppose you could sand board down a dune and then it could pull you up a less steep bit..? think when either mine or nic's wagon is done might chuck it in the back for a 4wd trip with the boys from over here and see what happens.
