I have some manuals in my emails that need preserving to CD and not just my PC. To say I am rusty at burning CD would be an under statement.
Can I do it with my Win XP and Nero straight from the attachment icon in my gmail or do I have to open, save it (to somewhere I can never find) then go trudging through Nero.
Any step by step hold my hands will be appreciated

OK. Chose to open it as a download and of course, does not appear in my free download manager - like everything else I have downloaded and wanted. Gone into a black hole ?

clicked on the start button and got a search going and found the file, so think I need to note the name of all these zip files as I open the email and download them to PC, then bother you boffins about how to save from PC to CD, eh?

Its been a while for me too. But I would say to make it a simple process, save to a new folder on your PC, then burn this folder to CD using Nero or whatever program you have.
Then take this CD to another computer and try to open the files - if they don't work you may have to un-zip them before buring in Nero...
That's my guess for the PC...

Best not to try and save .zip files unless to a hard drive (IMO) but for doing data backups, I use Nero and go into the section that says data backups and go from there.. there are so many versions of Nero so to guide you by hand it would be best to google it.. say like.. backup files using Nero 7.2 (or whatever your versions is)
Hope that helps a little??
