Yeah shit mate.
I still remember reading the thread about it when you first found out about it.
I hope the bastard that lost all the blood still has some sort of disability - from their own stupidity before anyone flames me for that comment!
A good looking L too before it was stacked I'd imagine.
Cheers

Yeah I missed this too, is the thread explaining it still around? I read a post of your recently about the cops having to ask how your car was going as fast as it did when it was stolen?
Real shame, looked like a really nice car

I remember hearing about this awhile ago. When I joined up here I heard something about it, I never saw photos though. They must of hit that pole bloody hard. the damage was pretty bad.
The bastards whole stole it should be shot, it was a perfectly good L. I have to agree with bennie there.
Oh if you wouldnt mind retelling some of the story, please!

I remember also - such a waste - of the L and of the oxygen these guys breathe
I've had a few stolen including my first car and lost more than my fair share of audio systems
Never forget that sad feeling that a fellow man needs/wants my stuff so bad
Feel for you

This was my post in the stolen L-Series thread back in 07
This was my car, and yes, it was loved.
To settle the debate...EA82T with mods a plenty incl a spider manifold. Just sorted an underfueling problem with steve (of Rising Sun fame) and yes, it went hard.
First i knew was the phone call at 1am from police asking if i was the owner of the car., and if i was, where i did i last see it. looked out the window, no car.
The poor misunderstood, "my mother didn't breastfeed me" lads bypassed the alarm, rolled it down the street, and away they went. police called off the chase at 120kph for safety reasons, but at that speed the car is coming on song.
back to sleep, listened to the 6am news - sure enough, crashed. Went to the sence - totalled - guess it won't buff out. Am glad nobody (innocent) was hurt/killed. The passenger seemed to have suffered a head laceration, reasonable amt of blood, but not life threatening
And a big two thumbs up for the police - they were very professional throughout my dealings - I know car enthuasists and police don't always get along, but they saw how the car looked after, and fully complianced, and were sympathetic to my plight.
...and i had just filled it with $70 of PULP
So from here, nothing but the rear end to salvage, motor / gearbox is stuffed...interestingly the alarm still works (!!), will wait for Shannons to advise salavage cost to me - only two good panels (door and tailgate).
Some pics to follow when i can work it out, but they're not pretty, and may be disturbing to younger viewers.
This was the original thread.
I still find odd parts, bolts, screws etc in the shed from the all the blood sweat and tears that went into this car.
Had a list 1.5 A4 pages long of 'to do items'...and only had re-doing the pin striping left!
RIP little wagon...probably came back to me as a can of soup.

Sven, I find it painful to re-read the post and look at those images so I couldn't imagine what it would be like for you even to this day. I realise its not a relative etc but the sentimental value of your time and passion that someone's taken liberties with that causes the pain...
Its a shame that nothing was really salvageable.
At least you're thinking positively with the above quote. If you get a warm fuzzy feeling when opening said can you'll probably know its "the one"
Cheers

The police have to call off pursuits >120 kph, with other factors taken into account (conditions, time, location etc)
They estimated it was doing between 160-190 kph down King William Road. For those not familar with Adelaide, it is a 6 km suburban shopping strip made of pavers! The police wanted to know if the vehicle was modified, to explain the speeds it reached.
Luckily, it was about 1am Monday morning - the streets were deserted, so no families or fathers of 3 young kids were killed - that would have been simply dreadful.
