not sure if it is delay or the slower snail version. USPS flat rate boxes come in via Aussie Express with tracking. I hit up their tracking on a customs number that says it is not trackable. Try sending something the other way and they slug you $9 extra for customs checks on anything over 500 grams!

I am but I don't think it's congestion in my case...
I recently bought some batteries from Hong Kong (Lithiums for my R/C planes) and they went via, wait for it, Zurich!

Because lithium batteries can be dangerous (HK post even had some fires in their mail sorting rooms apparently

) HK post banned them outright, and now the place I buy the batts has to send them by Swiss post, via Zurich...took a month to get here

Not that I've noticed with stuff from the US, but a set of seats I'm waiting on from brisbane are taking their sweet arse time - due to the seller moving house/being busy

They said they'd get them on the truck today but I haven't heard anything yet...
Cheers

I got some tools from L.A via DHL in 2 days - cost $140 to send 2 boxes, combined weight of nearly 10kg's in decent size boxes.

haha yeah, its apparently all to do with the massive influx of importing, everything over 1lb being examined and aussie customs cracking down on under-declared items, fun.
NZ- yeah, sometimes. Trademe is lame though (in my opinion), requiring you to have 10bucks in your account to send sellers a question, and they have some personal issue with paypal, which makes it difficult.

I lost some things coming from the US which i was a bit pissed off about, that was using USPS or UPS. I've been paying $10 or so more to use DHL express which is tracked and insured and i haven't had a problem since. My last package went form California to Ballarat in 3 or 4 days.
