mobile phone plans currency

What is it with marketing mobile phone plans? Who else offers $500 worth for 30 bucks, c'mon!!

It turns out a supermarket that had their own business selling simple pre paid access, like 15 cents per thirty seconds, 15 cents per text have sold out to their carrier who now trades under the altered name of the supermarket inspired name - now offers $500 worth of text and data etc for close to $30.

Back when a call was costing 30 cents a minute with a 15 cent flagfall, calls are now priced under the new scheme as 89 c a minute, 39c flagfall so really looks like my 500 bucks value is, well actually worth $250 for the freedom of any network, $250 confined to one network and 5GB data (no good on current simpleton fone) , $250 is really worth $80 as costs have suddenly tripled .

Are we really silly consumers to believe that currency conversion?

I'd like to do same with my fuel costs, pay $30 and get $500 at the bowser at current fuel pricing that is !

I bundled my internet, 2 mobiles and my home phone and get an awesome deal

Mobile no 1 = $15 per month with $440 worth of included calls and 1.5gb of data
Mobile no 2 = $8 per month with $165 worth of calls and 200mb of data
Landline = $25 per month with most calls rates cheaper than the big T
ADSL = $35 per month for 100GB of data at 1500kbs

Much better than any deal i was on previously

Who's that with?^^^^

I've got both of mine on $1 per month with 10c texts & 10c per minute calls, I was on $19.99 per month with $300 worth of calls or texts which was enough for me before I went o/s but dropped it down to save paying for something I wasn't using....I'll see how it goes as I'm not into the net phones, I like my old Nokia that I can drop or sit on without it breaking.......All with TPG and never had a problem in 12yrs and a few different owners since they were B.

My solution: don't have a mobile

I must be the only person I know of without one, last time I had one I was wasting $15 every time the credit expired; $20 was the minimum you could buy and I never used it before it expired.

I should go on a plan I guess, but there is no way I would use $500 worth of calls in a YEAR let alone a month...

Exetel is the company, I cant recommend them enough. Ive been with them for ADSL for 6 years and joined the mobile and landline this year.
