Could someone please let me know where I can find the correct paint code for an L series.
I may be looking straight at it but right now I cant find it anywhere.
The car is a 92 model Sports wagon white in colour. Nothing special and not metallic, just plain white.

Check under the bonnet, left or right of the striker/latch that holds the bonnet closed. Mine is 544, S1 L series wagon, non metalic

Checked and not there.
To the left of the bonnet catch is certainly where the paint code is for my MY wagon but not on the L series.
Now I would say if an engine is degreased often the sticker may come off but with mine I would say it has not seen any degreaser for ages.
Cant see any evidence of repainting in this area so I dont know.
If anyone else with a non metallic white L series could let me know their paint code and year of manufacture I will see what the majority have and try a small tin of paint of this type to see what happens.

^ That and look on the top of the strut towers, I've seen some L series with them located there. The sticker is a little plain white sticker, black border with "paint code XXX", it's about 1cm by 1.5-2cm ;)

Try the compliance plate or the tyre placard in the drivers door area.

My 1/1993 build L Series has a little silver label on the passenger side strut tower. Most of the text has rubbed off, but I think it says 231. But I tend to use whatever shade of white is cheapest, and it doesn't make the car look any worse

I found mine today on the radiator support panel on the front facing piece just above the passenger's headlight. I'll go check the other parts cars I've got around there and get back to you ;)

I hav seen silver labels on L's with paint code just near bonnet catch - BUT if already been washed or polished intensely, or been in a front end bingle may not be there after 20 years !

and i bet they look they same 20 years down the track!

Polar white is also an old Ford colour and looks very dirty polar bear creamy yellow next to newer stark whites of this millenium

Adding an L series paint code to this old thread.

No paint code to be found anywhere on my 'Biege' '85 L wagon.

Turns out it's Paint Code Number 38 'Cashmere Biege'.

Through total trial and error my paint code for the L series is Holts Duplicolour DSSB01.
I took the petrol cap into Auto 1 and bought about 4 or 5 different can of white till I found one the same.
I do know it has to be Holts as other brands even supposed to be the direct equivalent are NOT the same.
Auto 1 love me.
