Got around to another one of those must do jobs - refill the colour cartridge for my printer/scanner. I bought a replacement for my BJ2000 (circa MY2000) six years ago and bought a second EPSON STYLUS CX1500 from the post office coz the new printers were same price as a pair of cartridges ! My colours have emptied (6 years to do 2 cartridges), was putting off buying another refill kit as the sales guy at the ink place said I could not use the leftover colour inks from my Canons refill kit due to different ink standards.
Repeated that to my computer fix it fella - raised eyebrows sent me to ask the other ink sales guy at his stall to repeat what I was fed just minutes before - inks are inks.
Just tried the Canon destined inks into my Epson cartridge, used the reset jigger from the black ink Epson targetted kit and BINGO - very nice colour copy THANKYOU !!

I use one of these Rihac CISS things and it works great in my Canon IP5000.. saves buying genuine cartridges every time.

I bought reusable cartridges for my epson and a set of 100ml ink bottles has saved me a fortune, my biggest problem was getting the ink into the cartridges, which was solved by finding syringes that fit into the cartridges.
Made for an interesting conversation at the pharmacy.

I am led to believe that you cannot mix Dye inks and Pigment inks or you run the risk of wrecking the print head and if you do you may as well buy a new printer. So be certain as to what type of ink your printer is designed for.

Oh well, just as well I bought a spare printer the same when they were cheap
yeah, trying to buy a syringe for purposes other than shoving something into the body raises eyebrows at pharmacies. I learnt not to try explain the purpose to pretty young things at the chemists, secretly I was cc'ing heads !
