Who has shipped to the U.S.?
I've purchased a gearbox which is in Australia and am trying to figure out freight, and really have not much info on where to start. i know some folks have shipped stuff to the U.S. from here, but I don't know or haven't chatted with them myself. So if you've freighted stuff to the states or know someone who has, Please please help me out..
Which company do you use, how does it work, i have 1 gearbox to freight from Perth to Utah (USA) and would like the BEST rate for that transport.
thanks !!

From experience I have posted rather than shipped smaller parcels to the US from Australia and the costs seem to be a three to one cost ratio - It is about three times as much to send to the US than it is to get from the US.
Maybe contact FEDEX as we have them here.
To get a 16" cubed parcel of 27kg fro WA, USA to Oz, their first quote was about $A1200, then whittled down to $A700. USPS wanted about $400US as did UPS.
I ended up getting some kind soul in the US to repack everything into three USPS flat rate boxes 12"x 12" x 5.5" for about $55US each.

Pack and send do a forwarding service, so a fee is paid in Australia and fees are paid in the country of destination. as well they do a freight service. there is a company Guy swears by but I can't remember its name.
good luck with it all

Thanks guys, we've got a quote on from them, and it's SUPER competitive!!! I think we've found our handler/shipper. I need to follow up on a couple quotes with them and get the fine details about handling on each end and destinations, plus how customs works, etc. etc.
Thanks again!!
