imageshack asks for email addy

and ask for a real addy, so, I entered my special spam direction email address - a valid one and they tell me it is already in use and want another, blocking my use - so.o.o I gave them a dodgy one

WTF did they get my spam mail addy in the first place and why would they just not cross ref it and let me get on with it ?? Did their cookies get it from my PC somehow ??

You serious? You don't usually need to put one in for uploads, only if you have an account and want to use some special features (I do).
