"""Hi all, I need someone to drive my car to Karratha from Perth. It is a little Subaru Brumby ute so It will only carry two people max. I need to use it up there but I don't want to drive it up.

I will fill it up with fuel in the first instance but the rest is up to you to pay for.

I need it there during the week as I fly in and out of Karratha for work and I am only in Perth on Weekends to hand it over.

It takes about two days to Karratha doing 8 hour days but I will give you a week or so ti just needs to be given back to me during the week day in Karratha.

Let me know, I will have to trust someone you must be honest.

Shannon""""

Hummm, anyone want a free brumby to drive for a week:)

Sounds... umm... interesting?

Or plain dodgy. If you don't read it right it sounds like he wants you to drive it up there for his use during the week, then back to perth for the weekend - at your expense. Plus you'll need a time machine to do the "two day drive" back to perth in time for the weekend.

But I'm guessing that he just wants it driven to Karratha so he can use it up there. Great for a road trip, but you're doing him the favour yet have to pay for fuel. I doubt he'll be covering your flight back to perth :???:

I hope it works out for boths parties that are involved.

Cheers

Karratha is currently the new Europe, it seems every country in Europe that has an excess of young people (hippies and backpackers) who need work has sent them to Karratha.

If I had the money to set up an English language centre I would do it in Karratha. I'm sure that it would cost around 300 -400 dollars in fuel to get that brumby there.

I thought about driving mine back as I would be reimbursed fuel costs, but a guy I work with has one up there and it was going to cost nearly 500 dollars to get a new radiator and that was before installation.

As well it seems once you get a second hand car past the 26th parallel it doubles or triples in price :)

So it would be cheaper for a new age traveller to drive the brumby up there than fly but not as cheap as getting the dreaded greyhound.
