I'm about to use white knights epoxy enamel rust guard over some old factory painted mags and got a horrible thought - anyone know what paint type bubbles up on what other paint type ??
Always a major piddle off when it happens, so peed off never remember the situation ......

2 pack bubbles on acrylic, pretty sure acrylic bubbles on oil based.
Factory should be 2 pack so probably pretty safe.

enamel could "peel/Fry" on acrilic.
The method.
Old soobies are painted acrilic but the acrilic is old and pretty set so is unlikly to "fry" but to be carefull.
Clean surface with wax grease remover.
Rub back surface with 240 or finer "dry" paper
clean with wax grease remover
Apply a "Dry" coat, this is a very thin coat of paint
let that coat go sticky/almost dry then apply a "wet" coat of paint, this will give the shine.
Now if the original paint does fry. STOP let the fry dry properly, a day usualy will be enough, rub it back then apply dry coat then wet coat. It will only fry the once.

Thanks, I should have added they are Pug rims - that may send Guy into reply with knowledge of their paint process , also got the tinned variety - I get to thin it for spray

,was discounted heaps at Bumings
A fine mist coat first ? - that will take patience and maturity - didn't wanna have to clean a gun twice!!
always a first time for everything
