I seem to recall with early Commodores and the aid of a factory manual you could look at the cars compliance plate (VIN ?) number and each of the numbers/letters meant something, ie, manual, engine type etc.
Does anyone know if this is still the case with Subarus in particular the MY and the L series.
I just wanted to know what each number means so I can learn a bit more about the car.
MY and L series compliance plate numbers
