I have one but it has a funny power plug :D - rated at 120V and 40W

I could either pick up a power converter feeding on 240V spitting out 120 or spend same on a 3/8" 240V hot melt glue gun.

Failing to come up with anything on the 'net.

Anyone seen these bigger jobbies in Australia ?

Jonno,

All are slightly different to 3/8" but may meet your needs.

Masters: Bostik HG3 10mm dia. gun $19.50
Bunglings: Selection ~10-11mm ~$17-$48
Jaycar: TH1992 (11mm dia refills) dia $22.95

I think I got one from Big W a few years ago for work, may have been the Bostik.

Patrick.

OK, standing corrected ...3/8" is ~ 9.5 mm , my glue sticks are 11.20mm

, also need to revise my search engine words to get results.

The OS links are useful Jules, but only if they had our power plug :)

I'll have to check out my local hardware options, thanks also Patrick !

or get a power box ! (another item to buy, store, forget, trip over etc )

You know, was in Jaycar about the time Patrick added his post...never crossed my mind they would have them. Ended up with a Jaycar jobbie - thanks for the homework fellas.

Maybe we could start up a new search engine, give Google a run for its money - could be a lot of hard work in the beginning for members here filling requests :D

100% praise for Jaycars wordsmith writing their catalogue telling the interested reader that the bigger glue gun handles 40% larger diameter glue sticks than the usual standard. Woulda been far better to simply state ~ 9.8mm -11mm.
The bright spark sales guy pointed out standard is 7mm glue sticks. 1.4 x 7mm still don't make 11.2 but it fits or should, as its glue sticks same fat as my import special bits of 'licorice'

All happy - just gotta give it a try out soon

I imported a dent puller from the States when my car was attacked by hail, I told them the gun was useless to me as it was 120v so they added extra sticks, probably the same big black ones as yours, too late now but I got a great little gun from Bunnings which has a dock and is either cordless or you can leave it plugged in, the dock and the gun have the same plug, bout $20 from memory.

the banddminidentpuller - degen - you guessed it !

I thought I'd deal with it at the time of arrival, and hey, it is a bit of a novelty - and no one is gonna do any good if they flog it :D

A mate decided to fit a 3 pin socket to his massive (almost ride-on) battery charger to prevent people borrowing it. I caught him just finishing off his double ended three pin plug extension cord necessary to use it. What ever stopped him thinking they would just need to borrow his death trap extension cord as well - I dunno . Likely same common sense that he didn't see what danger a double ended three pin plug could be !
I could be a danger with cordless - at least with a dangly cord hanging of I'll find it. How'd you go with the hail ding puller ?

Being an electrician, I've come across these "suicide leads" as we call them from time to time. Industry practice is to cut the end off, no questions asked.

Sent from my new touchy phone thingy

Turn the power off twice first though of course Gannon -and yer back !

It used not be 'suicide' by the owner or creator of the lead but some poor unsuspecting victim as in member of the family or employee. Those intersex lead ends were a great idea as long as you didn't have one each end !
