'That's not a ceiling fan...this is a celling fan'
Is huge - span of ~8m and does it roar on full speed! AND you can throw a ball into it and not much happens!!

Where's the fun in that ? What would be cool to see is throwing the ball at the fan and getting a 3-pointer from the fan kicking it to the hoop...

I know!!
They way it works (I'm told) is that the blade 'gives' and within milliseconds the opposite blade retards, ensuring the fan is balanced.
I have not seen it, but so want to test it

I love the fact that each blade has it's own little upright tail on it!
Classic.

The're
'Big Ass Fans', I've used them in a hall / gym up north ...
The one pictured is a
Powerfoil ( earlier version ) & does about 113 RPM ( Max ).
P.S - The biggest one's go up to 24-ft. [7.3m] in Dia. Awsome to watch, but they do make a lot of noise ...
I also wouldn't recommend throwing stuff at them, as it tends to break things ...
Cheers, Bantum ...

The first one I saw was at the "Bounce" centre in Weir St, Richmond(?) - it wasn't really noisy but it gently moved air at a very comfortable rate.
Cheers
