1/5 th off today reminder
Just a reminder in case you missed ads, or your geussing was out, one of those parts and accessories places is having their one day sale.
Time to pick up stuf like power steering leak fixer, spray can lubes, water cap plugs and those little items that are at normal retail prices making the sale day a worthwhile visit - unlike stuff with price padding
Also noticed the high flow thermostats to suit EA series in 180 degreeF were about 17 bucks ......

Stocked up on Subaru part number ending in CRC556 , Nulons 5 l concentrate anti freeze anit boil whose price has jumped a bit in last few years . A sales rep for another brand told me this was about best around and said all you gotta do is compare the weight - bloodiest heaviest 5 l of water stuff you'll find.
Got a kilkenny thermostat housing for a Datsun 1600 $3.20 in the hope it was same size as our radiator hoses use cut off neck as a joiner /emergency hole fixer. But it ain't - too big. Another Nulon I got - G70 gearbox additive, Lanotec ....
all that stuff that is about same price everywhere until they cut the prices

Feels good eh ?
Prior to this sale, I took the $5 gamble and bought a clearance item - a funky , soft rubbery feel plastic spotlight by Calibre. Hand held trigger handle about 120mm long 70mm dia. Was marked down from fifteen bucks. Maybe its downside is it uses C size batteries (3) so can't pinch them from anything else to try it out , by by Fuji it is an intense little spottie beam by Cree and not a big heavy chunky SLA jobbie of the old school stuff. If you see them - grab one !
Has HI, lo, and strobe function for ya discos

well, another one of those "this weekend only" specials at another of our nationwide favourites rep co.
I took advantage of their synthetic blend/semi synth 15W40 Valvoline armourall at 16.99, with their rrp of 29.99 , this one good for my EA82Ts at least and likely good for all newer engines that use this grade think it is up to SM now.
Worth a try, stocking up to keep next oil change cost down thanks to mr repco
so decent saving if you get in early, they limited me to three

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Time to get a snorkel Gannon! I don't think these were on special from what I saw in store today...
I made the largest purchase in the super crap store ever - over the hundred in spark plugs, thinners (on special, almost cheaper to buy two than to get just one!), a couple of basic tools and that was about it
And I ripped at rip every poor customer off for a part that I needed today. Everyone else would have needed to order it in. I almost paid double
I was also interested to see that the sale continues until 3rd of March - I thought it was just for last weekend!
Cheers
Bennie
