Yes, I have noticed things have changed a little around here but it still has the same feel Seems like a lot of the older members have since moved on which is a shame but just means it's time to make some new friends I have been a member since 2002 sometime I am pretty sure, it was so long ago lol but I know I was a member while I was at school
I didn't have my licence when I joined but I still had a drive of our Subie from time to time Mostly in off road situations
It's good to be back - I have started reading through everyone's posts but I still have a lot to catch up on!

Hi Bennie,
I'm currently driving a '04 Nissan Pulsar Sedan - stock as but she gets the job done
I am looking at getting a Turbo Forester very shortly - not 100% on whether I want the Turbo Diesel or the Petrol Turbo as yet - the kWs are obviously lower in the Diesel than that of the Petrol model but the fuel economy makes up for that - so that is my dilemma

Read up on the DPF or DFP (I can't remember) issues the new forester diesels have been having. I'd almost stick with the petrol units.
Someone apparently removed the EGR valve and haven't had an issue with shuddering since, might be worth looking into if you go with the diesel.
Time to ditch the pulsar, fast!
Cheers
Bennie

Welcome back Tigger
If you buy a turbo diesel forester you "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" "MUST!" drive it like you stole it from day one, otherwise the DPF and EGR will fill up with soot and you will have the shudder of great unhappiness.
My wife has one and loves it, she rarely does short trips in it and a heap of 110k/ph driving. when I get to drive it, it makes me not want to drive my brumby or my vortex. (for a little while)
truth be told if I was to buy a new car it would either be the TD Forester or the STI forester (if it was released here)
good luck with it

Hey guys I am so incredibly close to getting my Turbo Diesel Forester! I am going for a test drive on Saturday! So excited!! The fuel economy ened up being the decider on getting the Diesel Forester. Thank you for your comments and suggestions - my Husband plans on giving it a bit of a thrashing
I will post pics once she is home Will miss my little Pulsar though She's been such a great car.
