Suprising find for EJ/EA radiator swaps

I was reading this thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/top ... rbo-build/

and about half way down page 13 I found that the BRZ radiator is 95% similar to the "L" series radiator

It is thicker and has the bigger ports required for the EJ motor.

now if only I had the near 500 dollars for the koyo radiator

Join a BRZ forum and look for somebody who is upgrading their factory radiator

I do believe that the radiator in that thread isn't for a BRZ ???

I may have jumped the gun on this one...

I have found other information which suggest the BRZ radiator has a top hose in the middle of the radiator???

still looking for a factory picture to confirm this ...

not so excited now

edit : on anFT86 board I found this picture

seems the other pictures of radiators were wrong??

as well you would need to source a turbo radiator filler as the radiator has no filler tube.

if you haven't guessed I'm thinking BRZ radiator (aftermarket or original) in my EJ22 powered vortex ...mmmmmmmmmmm

Fd3 rx7 radiator is also a contender to fit too.

Only problem is that both measure 100mm plus in thickness with factory radiators and shrouds. Nothing that couldn't overcome with fabrication and money or changing to a pusher fan setup

Whats wrong with the plastic filler, its made from the same plastic as the end tanks.

as for plastic whats right with it

I can't weld or solder plastic, I can weld /solder metal.

All I do is spend money on modifications for my cars

I don't have aircon in my vortex anymore so the radiator could theoretically sit futher back in the space that the condenser lives in.

now Im off to look for rz7 radiators Ive even looked at jeep radiators as well.

perhaps we need a sticky on radiators from other car manufacturers that will fit into our modified subarus.

edit RX7 radiators look great but most have both pipes on the same side.
