There's quite a few on that list that you don't see anymore on a regular basis.

Yes - I wonder what happened to them ?

It looks like El_Freddois taking the lead so far, closely followed by Steptoe ... :)

Sorry RSR 555 is a distant third ... :p

Some come and go as they buy and sell their Subaru's. Which is a shame as a lot of them have some really good experiances in modifying them.

Coming 3rd isn't too bad for someone that didn't join till 2007

Prize Giving ...

Post by Bantum » Wed Jan 08, 2014 8:54 am

Yes I suppose it's a bit like that - "Such is life" as one would say ... :)

You must be on it every day too, I only joined in 2012 ... !

What do you recon - should we get El_Freddo a prize of some sort ?

I'd say we've got about 2 to 3 weeks max ( at the rate he posts ) before reaching the 10,000 mark ... :p

Might just go "POOOF" when he hits 10,000 ! Or is it like Y2K and the counter can't handle more than 9999 ?

Couldn't agree more - but I guess priorities change for some...

Hehehe... thanks mate, no need for a prize. The involvement with the forum is rewarding enough - hence why I'm still around (apart from the love affair with subarus). But I am chasing a new ausubaru windscreen sticker

I'm sure the forum (and I) will be fine Steptoe. Is this why you've let me stand out front?? :p
NachaLuva wrote:It might reset him back to 1 :p
I'm sure that could be organised!

I would also like to add that I would not be the "top poster" if the forum didn't crash in 2005. There were plenty of members who were right up there with their post counts. I believe the forum was hacked and that's what pulled it down. A lot of good information I believe was lost in this time. There are some stickied posts that will reference the lost information as they were written shortly after.

I hope the forum thinks at least 5 of my posts are worthwhile...

Cheers

Getting very close there, congrats in advance Bennie. All the info I've got from your posts has been very helpful. You manage to be very detailed with the info & with pics to go with it. Has helped me more than once.

Cheers Jake

Thanks fellas!

It's been a "life long" dream of mine that I've now fulfilled

Nah, I just love sharing information and having a yarn - Nachaluva can attest to that!

Plus I love getting out there then sharing the experience with the trip reports. I was thinking today I should get them sorted into one of those online books to print and put on the shelf/coffee table :D

I've learnt a lot from this forum to the point that EFI systems don't scare me like they used to back in the days where all I knew was carbie stuff.

EJ all the way!

Keep the good threads/posts coming people! It's what keeps the forum alive ;)

Cheers

yeah, yeah, comgratulations Scott, mutter, mutter

Not as if anyone is trying - really :) Forums really open the knowledge up to anyone with access to the 'net. Before this forum it has to be the 'specialist' workshops to squeeze some info outta them.

Sorta felt they were stepping up on the pedestal. "If I were to do another 5 speed conversion I'd want 1500 bucks" speaking about an L 5MTDR into an MY. This guy did not do the L two piece tailshaft - don't think he knew !

Then, I paid a small fortune for something 15 years ago and just needed some finishing pointers for instal, and as one guy is giving me a quick tutorial, his boss comes up and tells me not to take up too much of his mechanics time.

Woulda been a different story if I was ready with the questions with the money still in my pocket, item on his bench.

Never been back !
