Dunno, maybe he's one of those "ancient ones" that's hit 10,000 posts then the Y2K bug's cousin has got him.

Cheers

Bennie

Well done mate! I'm surprised you're still "down there" with your post count.

Things that will help with this:

(obviously passion for subarus and sharing on the forum!)

1) Projects that are all DIY

2) Organising trips

3) Trip reports

This is what I've loved (and still do!) doing on the forum and it's what I reckon has bumped my count up over the years. The other thing that helps is the amount of time you've been a member and how active you allow yourself to be on the forum... which reminds me I need to chase up that windscreen sticker thread.

Cheers

Bennie

*looks for windscreen sticker thread*

Or you could just with Jono's theory and just post up the first thing that comes to your head on the hour :p

Bwhahahahahaha... Yeah, what would we do with a forum without Jono? It just wouldn't be the same!

Cheers

it is just pay back for the help I got in 2005 when I was stumped as what to get and how to do my 5 speed L box in my Brumby. All went smoothly and I drove out of the workshop at 4am on a Sunday morning. Most , if not all those helpful dudes are out of here now.

It is better to get something off ya chest or from spinning about in an empty head, get it out here and get it ,shared, sorted - or ignored.

Post counter could do with a partner, count how often a member looks in - signed in or not !

It'd be interesting to see some stats over time for this. As Paul says, many of the people on that list haven't even really posted anything in years. Goes to show, I think the number of posts in total for the forum has had a massive drop over the past few years. You would think people who haven't posted regularly in years would very quickly drop off the list and be overtaken by others but it hasn't happened.

Myself, SubaFury, BrennyV, Alex, Matatak, are all in that list and we have been almost completely inactive for years now. I think most of our posts would have been when things seemed to be booming on here (particular in WA) about 4 to 5 years ago. Although alot of it was complete drivel we were all very very active with 4x4ing and constant modifying through those years.

They were good times - the forum was loads busier than it is now, not entirely a bad thing but a bit more "traffic" and having several active projects on the go is always good though.

What are those boys up to anyway?

Those times have bonded some pretty strong friendships - i dont think subafury matt would mind me calling him my best mate!

Matatak has had a baby, ive had a baby with another on the way, Andrew has had a baby, we're all growing up.

I met my misses (sort of) through this site and the majority of the people i still socialise with have all come from this website.

I still drive my liberty everyday, shes up to 210k on the clock now and the family car is hyundai i45.

Subafury Matt now drives a R33 skyline (homo)

AndrewT is still a wranga.

Well waddayaknow! :p Didn't even notice it myself, make this 2,001 then :p Still a long way to go before I can compare to to the likes of you Bennie! And I can still remember the subject matter of my very first post (apart from maybe a hello new member thread) asking about how to fix the rust in my family's old GL wagon, just look at her now

Many more posts to come, I wonder what number I'll be up to when I announce my wagon is finished

Cheers!

every forum has its peak then dies off. exactly the same thing happened to RSLC. it was an awesome community at its peak. ausubaru was always home though. Made some good mates here.

I have been a member of AUSubaru (BYB Message Board) since late 2002, I had a break for a couple of years but it wasn't hard to get back into it again. Some of my friends have left the scene now but I have met some new ones now and it's great :) I love being able to share my passion for Subarus with like minded people!
