Tesla S assembly line video

Post by steptoe » Fri May 09, 2014 8:40 am

things are a little more automated than other assembly line footage I have seen

http://www.flixxy.com/how-the-tesla-model-s-is-made.htm

the spokesman likes the robots fitting the seats - I like the magnetic line on the floor for the trolley to follow!

Now, if we all drove these things, Joe Hockey's budget 'd be screwed !

Awesome set up, not dis-similar to our own Toyota mega factory here in OZ though. Interesting ideas company for sure.
New model has rear doors that slide upwards??
In 10 years they've only made a profit once, 10cents a share, 1st qtr of last year! But they keep spending and growing so they're doing something right. About to spend 5 billion on a Lithium ion battery plant in the US!!

Modern German & Japanese assembly lines have been getting more & more automated for a few years now. & with the American level of build quality this can only be a good thing!

Years ago GM had a heap of electric cars sitting in the lot waiting to go out to dealers but the company execs, in their infinite wisdom, decided that wasnt the way to go so they scrapped the lot! :(

With F1 now hybrid, this technology is set to move forward in huge leaps & bounds!

PM, I thought Toyota was the only company to consistently record profits in the last few years?

NL the Toyota reference was only in regard to the look of the automation in the ass'y plant.
Everything written after the word 'OZ' was pertaining to Tesla!! ;)
