Great, another compooterized system to pile into the wiring harness
If you don't want the engine to make power when coasting down a hill, you don't want it to make power when you are stopped, but you do want it to make lots of power instantly when depressing the pedal...wouldn't it make more sense to have an electric motor? Being that these old fashioned petrol engines are most efficient at a certain RPM and temperature.

Will it ever end!?

Their claim somewhere else is that this technology brings the all petrol engine and all its stop start, cruise and other emission gadgets down to petrol electric hybrid economy levels without the added weight of an electric motor and its batteries. Didn't read this article, just grabbed its link so not sure of its content, but other article claimed a 45 litre tanked vehicle with cruise has achieved an extra 54km to the tank.

Making petrol cars more efficient is cheaper and easier then outfitting gas stations with Electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Its all very situational gains though as someone who lives out in the country may pull up at one stop sign during a 50km trip. And as far as cutting fuel during deceleration, I was under the impression that most cars nowdays do that anyway.

reckon it is supposed to work by not cutting injectors but to reduce the compression braking by whacking the clutch connect to a neutral, while engine runs at idle using just a little fuel rather than none, but getting the WHHEee! coasting advantage, reduced friction/compression braking etc to the tune of 1.2km further on every litre of fuel.
Old style angel gear could achieve similar fuel savings but is against the law (of common sense) due to rendering driver unable to accelearte to avoid disaster
