Avoid this seller

Post by Silverbullet » Wed Oct 07, 2015 11:23 pm

I bought a pair of semi-sealed headlight units from this guy on fleabay. They arrived but were wrong (silly me ordered the ones for quad headlight model i.e smaller dimensions) But also the glass lens on one of them was broken. They were posted in a non-padded postage bag :( Even though they were wrapped in bubble wrap, wasn't good enough.

He gave me instructions to return them, which I did (in a solid postage box this time) Then he ceased all communication, ignores emails, ebay messages, doesn't respond to phone messages (his missus answers the phone, takes a message and he won't call back) He won't even respond when I opened a paypal dispute. So I've escalated it to a claim in the hopes of getting my money back. Him going silent will hopefully work in my favor when paypal reviews the case, so I should get my money back eventually.

This has all taken so long, I actually purchased the lights a month and a half ago :(

minus the postage - hope you didn't win them for ten cents plus fifty bucks postage ! Don't see those bargains on ebay no more eh ? Hope you no say you returned them coz no fit - your fault. his option would have been to send another to replace brocken one.

At least you bought from someone locally - bit easier to deal with ....

good luck!

took pics and emailed, got a responce and he did send me out another headlight.. but the wrong one :-( sent me an inner instead of an outter. didnt complain any further because i knew it would not do anything

Yeah I noticed (after the fact) he's got a few negative feedback posts regarding this sort of thing. Looks like he's a repeat wanker.

Unless there is serious problem with the buyers claim, paypal will normally refund the full price paid. this will include the original postage price as well. it won't include the return postage (when you send the item back) unless you have followed the directions to get reimbursed for return shipping.

which includes

A copy/photo of the shipping cost receipt that shows the amount you paid (1 document).

A document proving that the item was sent to the seller: a copy of the courier receipt with the receiver's address visible or a photo of the package with the receiver’s address visible (1 document).

there is a link for this in your paypal account

Which I only found out about this morning after returning an ADSL2 modem for an RMA. :(

Sam have you reported him to Ebay?

If you haven't he will continue to rip people off
