Prefered search methods

I see constantly how people have found cool/different/useful/old items for their Subarus off ebay/Gumtree etc.
I do the usual searches on both sites such as EA81, Subaru, Leone, Brumby, Brat and the like but does anyone have any better search methods and descriptions which lets them find all this good gear.

I think part of that comes down to timing!

I usually search Australia wide as well. Also check out liberty as ppl are now labelling the L series as a liberty on these sites.

Otherwise it's just specifics - EA81, brumby, L series, (model) brakes, leone, Subaru bulbar etc.

One of my favourites is "project" in ebay. Some interesting things come up there.

There's an RS wagon on gumtree in northern Sydney that would be a good buy if I could afford it and the travel time to pick it up (needs a HG job). But I'd also want to confirm that it's a genuine wagon - the stock rims are too light in their colour and it's advertised as a '92 model. ALL AUDM RS wagons are 1993 models - it's the only year they were released.

Cheers

Project is a good one, thanks.
You are right, timing and I think luck plays a big part.
I dont search Gumtree as much as I should, mainly looking through ebay and weeding out things not needed.

If you're OK with international shipping, Europe/UK can be fruitful with searches like "Subaru 1800 estate"
This is how I found my NOS rear quarter window rubber ;) And for that rare item no amount of shipping was too much!

"Old School" is another search I also like to look at.
Hasn't come up with anything yet but still interesting
