bought this sponge under impulse buy.
It came in a sealed platic wrapper aleady moist !! All the way from China too
About the size of a sharpening stone
It has got me why a sponge has to be sold in a wet state ?
No printed suggestions for use, just a graphic of a car and dash gauges.
It is a very closed cell sort of foam so no good for washing paintwork
I thought I'd used it to absorb the water leaks from my specialist installed windscreen some time back, (shoved under the dash somewhere) but have since fixed that problem when I installed my latest screen.
anyone got these
suggested uses ?

You could use them as inner soles on some shoes that are too big for you.

err, it'll crumble and go into the engine ?
best stuff for ad-hoc air-filter is that bubble foam stuff you get some times in packaging for PC mbs, or other electronic stuff..its usually black/grey.....works well as a prefilter to grab the main dirt too.

As this sponge is sold 'wet' , I don't think it should be used for any sort of filtering uses.
more soaker uses I think , maybe a sanitary pad ? No . lets not go there...maybe it is suppose to work like a chamois ?

photo ?
no
never thought of that
been to Clints or the whorehouse lately ?
thats where I got it
picture this
rectangular block, 33mm high, 170mm long, 75mm wide, pale yellow, has about the sponginess of a marshmallow, wrapped in its wet state it weighs 96 grams. The moisture disappears from the bag into the sponge and vice versa (temp dependent) so maybe a rough thermometer !
time to charge up camera for a photo shoot

Is the dampness just water? If it has a picture of a dashboard/gauges on the packet mabey it's impregnated with an Armour-All type of substance?

If its wet then still use it in the vents but as a water air cooler for the inside

would you trust anything that comes already "
moist" from China?

sorta why it not been opened. not sure of the origins of the moisture and whether it has been treated , or needs to be !!

First, you should cut the sponge into four pieces.
When you re-assemble your EA82t you should leave a piece of the sponge in each combustion chamber, so next time you crack a head the sponge will just absorb the water and you can keep on driving.

Nut this one out
The sponge takes up less than half a cubic litre of space, already moist in its packaging, opened and placed in 500 mls water it soaked up 400ml! and gained only an extra mm or two in each direction.
Now fully soaked it really looks in place on a cheeseboard with crackers and cheeseknife !
Pick the sponge up gently and water remains suspended in it and no drain out.
Where is Deane Hutton or Dr Karl when you need them ?
