Specifically for Suba, but I know there is at least one other on these forums . . .

I own a Mercedes Benz W124 E-class that has a leaking rear windscreen seal. I simply can't fix it, it's well beyond my expertise. The thing is . . . no one else seems to be able (or willing) to fix it either.

What should I do?
Have any of you guys fixed these before?

I guess that one of the reasons that no-one that you have asked about it is that the rear screen is laminated , which means that there is much more of a chance that it could crack.
If it is the one that I am thinking of you will possibly have to replace some of the rubber mouldings that clip onto the chrome moulding, it is certainly doable and I have done quite a few , it is however quite time consuming and can be awkward.

124 Series would be somewhere between 85 and 96 is that correct.

You recommend O'briens? I've asked an independant auto glazier, both MB dealers in the area and some MB retailers. I'm not really concerned about the cost, as long as it's done properly.

The chances are that it is leaking due to a little rust under the eurothane bond , that has caused it to let go.
Your best bet is to speak to as many fitters that you can and choose the one that seems most interested and capable of doing to job, unfortunately you won't find anyone that will gaurentee to get the screen out without it crracking and they are about $1800 for a new one .

Actually most Mercedes Benz parts are well priced, just some small things (like windscreens) are an absolute PITA!

Mind you they're well put together, my wife and I had all the seats out in about 10 minutes and I can pull the whole dashboard out in under an hour. Try that in a Subaru!

Yeah i dont want to play with your mind but i can strip a whole liberty in about an hour (way toooooo many times have i done this)
