Bought a new car

Hi guys, thought I'd let you all know so you can get the jokes out, over and done with. I've bought a new car and am now waiting for "up to 3 months" for it to be delivered. Apparently they can't build enough of these to keep up with demand, I've told them I'll take the first available of 3 colours, white, silver or light blue. I want it light coloured so light scratches don't show up.
Now I thought I'd get it over and done with with my mates, but after telling most of them nearly a week ago I'm still copping flak. Best I get it out here ASAP then
1st thing that blew my mates away:
It's not a Subaru
2nd thing that blew them away:
It's going to remain dead stock
How can I say it will remain stock? My sedan was going to stay stock... it didn't. In fact no car I've ever had has remained stock - even when loaning my sister's Liberty I've gone and put rims on it! The simple fact is, there's no temptation at all.
The car in question has zero potential for genuine mods. It has all of 80Kw and puts this power down through the wrong wheels. It has ABS, EBD and brake-assist, so for all the fact it doesn't go it certainly stops. It comes stock with an MP3 stereo and 4 fairly decent speakers, I sure won't ask for more there. It has electric power steering: no messy pump failures to deal with. It has power windows, power mirrors, air con and remote central locking. Best part is that every morning it will start first turn of the key, and I'll probably forget where the bonnet release lever is.
Scroll down to see it in all it's ugly glory:
Oh the shame.... if anyone wants me I'll be in the bathroom eating tulips.

So whens the lift kit going in???
You said u wanted something that wont show up scratches... sounds to me like u want to take it bush.
I think i scraped something that looked like that off the bottom of my boot today. My shoe boot... not the hatches boot.

I think most of us due to the cost of newer Subaru's and also that they are all on the smaller size own other makes of cars.
Having said that...I only have Subaru in my drive, one L wagon, and a 95 Liberty Sedan FWD (wife's car).
But as the family grows the need for something bigger is getting ever more important and just cannot afford a newer Subaru.
Smokey.

LOL. VW Caddy was it?
D3V1L: My next big project is a force fed Chev. So I might end up with a Holden at some point, although I'm looking outside the square so it could end up in anything..... NOT THE YARIS!!!!!
And for anyone thinking I'm abandoning the Subaru marque, you're wrong. Things are going to get better on the Subaru front I think. I have to get my sedan running and gone by the end of the year and the coupe is going into long term storage. The wagon will hopefully move under its own power (heaps) too. When the rust gets too bad in that I might look at an Impreza or Liberty offroader.

I knew letting Tim work at a Toyota dealership would have a bad influence on his young mind.

Tim, I might let my mum off for driving a car like that..........but REALLY?
Yeah Smokey, I agree that the new Subies are out of my price range too, settled on a very low KM Magna wagon after looking at Libs etc, just too may kms for the price I found. 3.5L goes like stink too with the boot into it and quite economical when driven normally.

Seriously though, we will miss you around here and I do hope you get special care at the health resort for the mentally challenged.
Is that what you were expecting? Ford or Holden I prolly would have accepted, maybe even a Nissan or Mazda, but a TOYOTA??????????

unlucky.
Now u gotta look like a retard in your shopping kart car and watch your money fall away in depreciation each day !
Oh well I'm sure some good will come. At least u can modify the absolute balls out of the Suby's without worrying about them getting you to work in the morning.

That car will really suit you Tim (where is that gay emoticon anyway?).
LOL nah, I know exactly how you feel - just a simple nice easy to use car that will do exactly what it's designed to do and never break down.
I am interested in why you bought a Yaris over a Subaru though. Was it your whole Toyota thang?

yeah... why a yaris? couldn't a second hand starlet/corolla/soarer/chaser/supra/TTsupra/1100hp supra-with-a-disco-potato do?
