I'm an idiot... read that the wrong way...
To try and spltuy cahgne the sbjucet, smoe elgsih uvrisenty did a sudty on wrod inetdiifiocan and fuond taht if you wtrie out a wrod wtih the fsirt and lsat lteter as tehy are wti the ohetr ltretes jmbueld up in bteewen and tehre are the crecort nemubr of lterets for the wrod, taht msot ppoele cluod siltl raed the wrod as it wulod be wtiretn creoclrty.

To try and suptly change the subject, some english university did a study on word identification and found that if you write out a word with the first and last letter as they are with the other letters jumbled up in between and there are the correct number of letters for the word, that most people could still read the word as it would be written correctly.
