That Mustang was brilliant. Unfortunately the RB26 replaced a motor with more potential.
The Porsche on the other hand is, well, dumb. There's a replica running around over here with EJ20 turbo power, its nice and light and I bet it hammers. A Chev is a brilliant engine, don't get me wrong, but its far too much weight for a rear-engined car. The power-on understeer and lift off oversteer must be horrendous...

I spose it would be pretty wild (i like wild things).
Completely rediculous and impractical of course...
Alot of work to go to and end up with something stupid.

Racist? I won't even dignify that with a response. I still stand by my previous comment regarding that Mustang.
Sorry for the hijack.

Ferrari did a flat 12 in the Testarossa as well, they've also built flat 8's in the past too.
Still wouldn't put one in a Porka though.

It may be wrong, but can you imagine it at a dragstrip, bags of torque and heaps of traction (well for a two wheel drive)

Porsche made one for the 908 racer (1960s I think)

And they were a good motor if you changed their cam belts at ridiculously short intervals.

Having driven both the stock 911 and the turbo model (~300hp!) I can safely say that neither need any more weight hanging over the back wheels, especially without ABS and traction control. A chev V8 in the 930 body would be complete madness on the road, and where the hell do you put the huge radiator the 350 needs? the 930s were air cooled!
