If they are not musical (ie playing La Cucaracha or something) I think they are fine. I have a triple set on mine. I think Brett (or someone) had a train horn on his. This would be my ultimate goal.

I've always thought they were illegal in any form, but I'm only basing that on the fact that I've seen the tiny little dual air horn setups forsale in Marlows type places and they've always had "for offroad use only" stickers on them.
Might be something to check with the department of planning anyways.

I've had Airhorns on my cars for years right back to a 1971 V6 Ford Capri right up up to my current Forester that is sporting a Stebel Nautilus Airhorn > Products > Elettropneumatics > Nautilus Series and click on the low res or hi res buttons for a sample of the sound I hasten to add they do sound much better in real life though as your desktop or PC speakers do not do it justice.
As far as I'm aware NSW has to also have a switch to cross between the standard OEM horn and the
Airhorn and QLD just has to be a single note Airhorn ie non-musical.

Im not saying this is true... but i heard that they are legal (the non-music ones) if you have them on a completly seperate switch and your factory horn still works as it should.

Well Vidler and i just dummy tested having them all wired up at once with 130 PSI.... im not sure what to say... but we could not hear a lot afterwards... it was INSANE. We put it down to as low as 30PSI and it was still very very loud.
