Its a fun afternoon which entertains the kids greatly..

Serious farm work though..the years fleeces had to go.
Tough year for the flock..we lost a sheep and gained a lamb...

So we now have

Eenie, Minie and Moe.
(RIP Meenie, 2007)

Before shots...

A sensibly planned operation has lap of luxury transport to shearing shed and a crack team of helpers...

Image

Being grandchildren of a farmer, they all know more than me.
Luckily Howard was doing the shearing, perfect job it was too.

First the shedding up....

Image

Moe gets the Dooo, with help from Sarah.
Appoligies for the abstract blurring, I was not going to flash in there as the sheep were a little stressed.

Image

Have a look how black he is...

Image

Minee gets hers done, short back and sides porfavore!

Why would you have normal white sheep, so boring!

Image

Sweep up, a beer and a laugh..

Back in the Brumby for a 1st gear ride home.

For anyone with a keen eye..the brown one who is not much taller than a sheep in the first two photos.. that's Alice.

The smallest, miniature, full grown cow in the whole wide world.

(of east Cranbrook!)

Alice is a Miniature Hereford, and a small version at that.
She is two years old and fully grown.
The Lamb, Eenie will probably end up being taller.
