Ahhhh they are a fearsome beast the old muddie. I hope she went back to replentish the stocks.

I see you are at Hervey Bay and if you are up for a short drive, head up to Woodgate and turn left towards Theotilite Creek - the mangroves around there usually give up some nice muddies. Alternately get the Sandys that are pretty plentiful there too.

Miss that part of the world - might need a holiday I think and head up there!

If you are getting a heap of jennies it usually pays to move the pot in my experience.

If you can get a hold of a boat you should check out the creeks on the western side of fraser. AMAZING crabbing there.

Yepp I would be trying the move too. the Burrum river has some good spots there(that is if they havent built it in that is!! Grrr) or over near Walkers point would be another place to look - I would imagine you would be getting the sandies too.

You have to check the ones you are getting too to see if they are"hollow" due to them shedding their shell and growing a new one - not a lot of meat on them and the shell has a pallid and pale look about it. Best to put them back too as there wont be a lot on them.

Envious as hell still - unfortunately I cant come up but I am planning on doing so during Easter...might take the Soob on a road trip!

My mate is a professional crabber and he has always said Jenny`s are the best thing you could have in the pot to attract the males. ;)
