because for years people have been fishing there for salmon, mullaway, sharks and herring (and I grew up in Trigg)

there are other spots further north as well :cool:

I personally haven't tried it but I reckon it would be fun trying to hold on once the Salmon realises it's hooked.. yeahaa.. the kayak would become a instant jetski :D

yeah seen it done at hemelin bay afew weeks ago. The school moved off shore just beyond our casting range and this dude pulls a kayak out. Looked like GREAT fun, he'd catch one, then bring it back to shore then go back out there haha.

heading down to margret river this wednesday for 5 days.

Wish me luck!! --- there havent been any reports of salmon yet though :(

Yes pics please.

Us poor folks over East think a 2kg salmon is big. I think the eastern subspecies grows to a max of 4kg. I believe the record for the western salmon is about 10-12kg? Bloody big anyway!!! 8-):twisted:

Totally different kettle of fish? lol :roll::rolleyes:

My pb is 9.6kg and just under 1m long. They average 4-6kg in wa.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to catch the end of the salmon run over there.

Despite being a newbie at WA salmon fishing (we only used bait- lures seem to be the way to go), still managed afew over 5kg & one over 7kg & approx 90cm long...best fishing Ive ever had!
