Mack Tuna

Post by Ben » Sat May 27, 2006 9:34 pm

The boat has finally managed to claim its first decent fish. Went out with one of the fellas from BCF Coffs this morning and he picked this little guy up. We had a total of 4 runs on live yakkas for the one fish taken. Also got a treva, bream bastard red rock cod, spuddy and a sargeant baker.

The Mack was about 7kg and its first run took about 200m of 30lb braid from the TLD15 - I actually pulled anchor to start chasing it when it didn't look like it was gonna slow down.

Got some decent steaks off it that I cooked up for tea tonight, didn't go too bad, not near as strong flavoured as I thought fish that looks like scotch fillet would be!!!
