Dane gets whipped!

Took Dane(gerous) out around the islands for a fish today, bloody brilliant day, calm clear water, heaps of fish about, boated more sweep than I want to see again in my life, Dane nailed a decent bream, plus a heap of good silver trevally. Came across a school of rat kings over a part of the reef that every time we drifted over we picked them up. Here is Dane with one of the lil rats...



We decided to move closer to the mainland and look for some gravel patches, I hooked up a live slimey to slow troll back towards land hoping to pick up a tuna or similar - had it on the 10kg rod with TLD20 About a 3rd of the way back had a big run, let it rip for a few seconds before flicking to strike and giving it heaps - solid hookup!

After a few minutes of winding, letting the fish run, winding etc we boated a nice king of about 4kg.



Cooked it up fo tea tonight, sensational eating those kings are!
