Didn't catch any longtails but I did get a Mack Tuna. Weighed 5.6 kgs. PLenty of fish about but they were out a bit far to get them from the beach. I hooked 2 fish and landed one.

We should. Good thing it wasn't today though. I went up the beach again for a look today and didn't see a single fish. It was just dead. Gonna hit it up again after work during the week and probably again next weekend. Weather permitting of course.
I'll post up towards the end of the week with times and stuff for any one that wants to come.

No fish today. Blowing pretty hard from the SE around the front. We didn't even see a fish today. We ended up taking a drive across the island across the old tip track. The rangers have opened it all up through there now. Makes it easy to get to the calm side but they have srewed it up big time over there. All the old tracks we used to use to get to the out of the way fishing spots have been closed off.
Not a word of a lie when I say they have closed every single track except for the one main one through the middle. The rangers have single handedly destroyed the place. A champion effort I reckon to absolutely (&^%(*&^ the island and all with in 18 months. I honestly don't know what they use for brains at times.
All the old tracks up there used to be flat and hard. Easily doable in a 2wd. Now they have closed them all off the one main track gets all the traffic and it is disgusting. There is chewed up sand for 80% of it. The other 20% is corrugated. I was amazed at the land they have cleared in the name of conservation. They have dead set bulldozed tracks through the paperbark trees and closed off old tracks. Ironic thing is they all went to the same place.
