Ok so, Is anyone interested in him for parts then ?
I really have no idea what they are worth but like I said previously the motor was fully rebuilt in Sept 09 by a volkswagon & subaru specialist. He starts first go no worries when his battery is charged. I have all servicing documentation since I have owned him.
I really have no idea what he may be worth as parts or as a whole. If anyone has any ideas please let me know but please keep all smarta** comments to yourself.
Cheers,
Carlie

Cheers
Thank you very much for starting that and showing interest.
I was just looking at the detailed receipt for the engine rebuild from the subaru specialist and rebuild was $1566.95 plus all the additional parts all over the car that I got to make it as good as an old car could be, another $1126.95.
I was also just told by a experienced welder that apparently "anyone that's half decent with a tig welder can repair the rust, it's only a matter of cutting around it and replacing the metal". I know nothing about that but just thought I would share the comment in case it helped anyone.
I will leave Scooby here for another week. Please feel free to make offers. As previously mentioned I do believe I am very realistic and I know I wouldn't ever get what I have spent on him but will wait and see.
Cheers,
Carlie

not trying to find fault with your reasoning because i do the same calcs, but a buyer would think that you needed to spend the money to pull it back up to scratch - someone got their monies worth from previous engine and worn out bits, and you got 5 years of use (or just something to look at) out of your 2600 spent!
I know an experienced welder that wants 900 bucks a day, and rust is a bit like opening a can of worms - ask Silverbullet Sam !
He is pretty rare in the first instance. I have seen more Vortices than his generation of utes !Reckon seen four, maybe five !
