MY05 Wrx (Peanut headlights) wreck not on WOVR $3750 ONO

Post by grugwrx » Mon Mar 08, 2021 6:26 pm

Hi All,

Super-conscious that I'm a new member here, but here-goes anyway.

In a nutshell, car wasn't insured *facepalm*, ate a concrete barrier, blew the air bags and did enough damage that there's no way it's getting back on the road.

I don't have the space, tools or time to part the car out so I'm hoping that someone with more time, space and tools will take it as a wreck. Ideally I don't want it to go to the wreckers as I'm sure someone on here can (and will) make better use of what's left.

I've uploaded as many photos as possible. If you need more, let me know. I'm also happy if anyone wants to swing past for a look.

I think the price is fair based on the costs of the parts on their own, but I'm not sensitive about getting feedback if people think I'm being ridiculous.

List of parts below:

Engine mods
- X-Force split dump pipe from the turbo back to the cat
- Magnaflow catback tailpipes
- Hyperflow intercooler
- Silicone Y-Pipe
- Removed silencer

Handling mods
- Whiteline rear sway bar
- Whiteline rear sway bar end-links

Other
- Original interior - ok condition
- 5 X 17-inch Original WRX wheels with Kumho KU39 tires
- One no good from the crash (see photos)
- Two are in great condition (my spare and the one that didn't cop it in the accident)
- Two are in rough condition (from the accident)
- Aftermarket stereo (Pioneer head unit + front door speakers)
- Chassis likely no good (although I'm no mechanic so maybe someone can make use of something)
- Engine 90% no good (see above comment)

Location

Malvern, Melbourne

Price

$3,750 ONO

Pick up from my place in Malvern.

Contact

I can be contacted on 0418 580 025 - SMS is definitely my preferred method of contact as I'm on the phone a lot for work due to remote working requirements.

G’day Grugg,

That sucks on both fronts mate!

Personally I think you’re pitched a bit high, and I think many will tell you this in no uncertain terms so don’t take it to heart when they very bluntly tell you so.

You could try on RS Liberty club forum, it’s slower than here but they’re all into the road huggers and you might snag a sale after copping some shite along the way.

I’m sure there’s a WRX forum - and certainly Facebook groups (where all the dickheads have a voice) to try on too.

All the best with it and get insurance next time (and understand what it covers you for - eg most, if not all, will not cover track work).

Cheers

Appreciate your help mate - good call on the RS Liberty forum - will try there too.

More than happy for feedback on price - I'm relying on people smarter and with more time than me to provide some guidance but I figure I've got to start somewhere.

Cheers!
