Looks like a good one to lift  Just have to get past that price tag! I know Jason is selling one from adelaide with a dedicated gas EJ22 setup - unfinished project. Would be worth considering if you were keen on the hatch I reckon!

Seems everyone else has been asleep I just bought a factory twin carb EA81 complete with air cleaner assembly, carbs etc only bidder and someone else bought a twin carb 1600 in queensland, his was cheaper at $50.00 with a gearbox though but I factored time and freight in and paid more for a closer EA81 Twin carb motor rather than go for the EA71 that was interstate.
Now to freshen up the new aquisition and have the power to match the dash in the Brumby, time to build an AWD 5 speed L series liberty hybrid gearbox as well methinks.

aww...... just how cheap, may we ask? The EA81 was probably wiser as rumoured the smaller capacity EA71 has not got same dimensions if you wished to fit inlet manifold to EA81 or EA82. So it is a twin port jobby with the inlets in the middle to?

Yes I have just got back from Newcastle, some delay with the Fatal truck crash at Mount White, was actually not on the expressway on the off ramp in a straight section, can't see how it could happen unless someone else was involved causing him to take evasive action poor bastard.
EA81 correct engine with short downdraft ports both inlet valves in the centre unlike the standard one.
This means dependimg on which spec you believe it is either 102HP or 108HP with good torque and revs to the moon, though some quote these engines at 120 HP I somehow would be surprised in stock trim.
Complete with factory air cleaner housing as well, lucky for me a fellow board member has just upgraded to an EJ22 so this came up,but to find both a 1600 and an 1800 factory twin carb at the same time is amazing.

I was gonna ask if any1 had power figures for these engines - there, we have them, what about torque figures and side by side standard EA81 may stick in minds too. Just shoving the rekitted hitachi twins on my EA81 with 16/56 cam years ago was a great torque and power boost. Just loved ripping up long highway hills at 140 with more pedal to go (just not enough licence points to spare)

Second that it would have been an awesome buy! I think an standard EA81 is 55-60kw so around 75hp.

Matt, those figures look correct. So the twin port looks to gain 30% over the standard !
