Sell EA81 Dual Carb - Motor + manfiold + carbs + more!

Post by Phizinza » Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:40 pm

I am selling my EA81dc (Dual Carburetor). It is in need of TLC but was running ok when it was pulled a couple of years ago.

It has a modified electronic dizzy (distributor) with a air breather (waterproofing).
Exhaust stud thread inserts which I have custom installed retaining screws to hold. They work well and hold strong but look a little messy and aren't original obviously.
Blocked off EGR.

It doesn't have a flywheel on it but I might have one lying around.

Airbox has been cut for more airflow.

This is a complete EA81dc. It has the reversed valve heads (you can identify by the shape of the air intake ports on top of the heads vs standard heads, and also the split exhaust ports. It has the cam to match the heads. The manifold to fit the two carbs. Not just twin carbs sitting on a standard motor.

Last time I checked compression on it when it was in a car all pots were within 5psi and averaging 170psi.

Check this link out for pictures (10mb worth) with some quick descriptions. 1600x1200 res, 29 photos.

I have two Weber IDF 36's which were from an Alfa 33 1.5L. I was going to make two manifolds to sit a carb on each head but never got around to it. I will throw these in with the deal. They have 2 36mm throats and are down draught carbs. Jetted for a 85hp 1.5L. Parts easily and cheaply available from the states.

Engine is located in South Australia. Could possibly arrange South Australian or Victorian delivery. You are welcome to arrange freight and I am ok with putting it on a pallet and taking it to a depot in Adelaide.

As for price, make an offer (these are as rare as hens teeth and hard to put a price on). Just consider on Ebay a set of carbs on a manifold sold a couple of months ago for $620. They were in similar condition and I am also selling the motor which delivers half of the power increase these motors had.

This is pretty much a collectors item I believe. After some TLC it should easily hit 8,000RPM, and give a heck of a lot more power than the standard EA81. Factory measured at 101hp vs the 79hp EA81's came with. But this engine has a lot more working RPM, pulls hard from 3000 all the way to 7000rpm and happliy keeps revving. Sounds bloody amazing. Just needs a bit of love again.
