Hi Dan,

1981 or 1991? as the L.Series ran from 1985 to 1994

Is that the Channel 7 Sh*tbox Rally? as I saw an L.Series with roo bar in the race. I think there was a couple of Libertys too hey?

It's a series 2 1981 Leone. Yep, was part of the shitbox rally that was on channel 7.

Here's a pic Dan didn't want to show me until I brought the wagon.. Dan really doesn't know me too well

I wonder how many members can pick what is different in this pic.. please just give hints without spoiling it for others :)

Wow, $400 is a bargain for that nice little gem under the bonnet ;)

Despite it's entry in the Sh*tbox rally, that thing looks remarkably straight.

Gees, I was a little suss about Paul being so keen on buying another Sube at that price, but that twin carb air filter box is something that might stop one of those thread bumps !

Was thinking, Daktari /Safari ?? Rhymes....wondered if it had the Safari set up, guess twins not a bad second prize.

How well did it go in the rally ?

Ogh, on second look, seeing that Vortex like alternator - ?? is this a proper twin port :D ?

Oh yeah, and it is the darker blue to match the jack - ees that what defines a proper twin port twin carb import from the mother land ??

I'm on fire here aren't I ??

I was thinking you'd be the first to pick up on Sam and yeah, she is really kinda good shape for the age.

What part of the above did you not understand Jonno?? :p:p:p

Not sure what place they got but she finished without any issues for the complete rally. Box is a little sloppy (not shifter sloppy) and the CV boots are torn but other than that, the little EA81S (yes all matching parts) runs extremely well.

picture that little wagon in buttercup yellow with a 3.9 dual range rally box (straight cut gears) mated to the EA81S motor and you have my old wagon :(

nice score Horatio

is it staying in one piece or getting parted out?

bloody little beauty! Thought those things where becoming pretty hard to find. Hmmmmmm I like the front grill arrangement better then the later MY's twin lamps.

Doug

I've got that in my wagon, it's a backup thing if one brake line fails or whatever there is an entirely separate line to 2 opposite corner wheels as backup.

And it's the proper EA81S...for $400 with a whole car attached, you are one lucky bugger ;)

Thanks. Needs some work but really nothing at all, especially when you have plenty of spares.

Just noticed after I got it home, it has rear discs and what looks like a VLSD diff
TOONGA wrote:is it staying in one piece or getting parted out?
Staying whole and maybe even compete in next years rally??
guyph_01 wrote:What about the twin brake cyl? never seen that before...
Most of the early ones had this setup.

I still have that other setup if you like Doug?

Thanks Sam and even after we've had a chance to go over the whole car, it still looks better than the $3000 yellow one we brought.

He doesn't need it.. he needs to EJ :D:D:D

Paul has gotta be one of the best qualified to get this gem, but hey, no fair - a loss to the east ;)
