EOI: JDM Leone GT/II turbo wagon with full time 4WD 4EAT
EOI: JDM Leone GT/II turbo wagon with full time 4WD 4EAT
Basically the ultimate factory delivered L series wagon. It was a personal import from Japan. Late 1990 buil model with EA82 turbo, full time 4WD 4 speed automatic.
2 tone silver with charcoal grey lower. Colour coded bumper bars.
Grey interior.
Fully optioned including:
Digital dash - all working.
Factory fog lights with flip open covers.
Velour interior
Central locking
Power windows
Cruise control (with factory steering wheel controls)
Air conditioning
Rear disc brakes and swaybar
Gen III EA82 turbo heads, identified by the emboss style of the EA lettering on the heads.
Height adjustable air suspension, although shocks are no longer with the car the compressor, air lines and dash mounted button still there. Shocks are apparently available new from Subaru.
Electric antennae with factory up/down dash button.
Surely the coup de grâce - factory fitted clinometer and altimeter, both working.
Has a set of re manufactured disc calipers i fitted to the car.
I fitted a brand new complete distributor. New caps, leads and plugs. Replaced the coolant line running to the turbo (cause of original overheating I imagine).
Has a blown head gasket. Starts, runs (rough, it's a big HG leak) and does drive. Will need to be trailered to a new home. Basically coolant line to the turbo has degraded and leaked, overheated, blown the HG.
Interior trim pieces have faded slightly different shades of grey.
Headlining is coming off.
Bit rough overall, obviously hasn't had the love it so richly deserves.
EOI at this stage because car is about 2 1/2 hours from where I live stashed away in a shed. Those two photo's are all I have.
Looking for $2000. For anyone interested at that price I'll get more photo's and a more detailed description.

wonder why the trim around the auto T bar doesn't match the colour of the dash, is it definitely all factory or been pieced together? Is it a touring wagon with high roof? hows the condition of the body, rust wise etc? would love to see more pics of this thing!

Touring Wagon with the stepped roof. The whole interior is either a mix of the purpley-grey like the dash in that pic and the grey around the gearstick. Don't know why. Could be pieced together, would have to confirm with the VIN. Got the day off tomorrow I might head up to where it's hiding and pull it out of the shed for a cleanup and photo session.

Shitty light but has a (factory?) rubber front lip fitted.
The factory JDM fogs are with the car, just not installed.
The buckets are actually really comfy. Drivers side lower bolstering is flattened.
Speaks for itself this pic
Rear sway bar and discs. No LSD.
Steering wheel cruise control buttons.
So that's what all those blank buttons were for... headlight washer switch, cruise, height control, fog lights, and yeah yeah rear demister.

Last registered in 2011 in Victoria. Has been registered in QLD previously. All using the compliance VIN stamped on the front left shock tower.
Drivers side panels are in pretty good condition. Some parking dints. Passenger side rear quarter, rear door is great. Passenger rear door with that dint. Front passenger quarter is rough. Roof is mint. Clear coat on the bonnet is rough.
As to the interior trim colours, it just looks like certain things have faded differently. Steering wheel actually grades across the two colours present in the car.
I started it and it ran and did move under it's own power. Actually pretty smooth considering the size of the HG leak, which must be to a coolant passage. No water in the oil or vice versa.
The 15" space saver spare is there with it too.

Definitely one of a kind you've got there Venom. Shame you can't see it through to the finish - a set of club plates would look mint on that
I guess if it's not going to work out for you it's a good move to let someone finish it off. That AWD 4 speed auto is certainly one VERY rare aspect of this vehicle!
Good luck with the sale, I'm sure you'll find a suitable home for it!
Cheers

Would like to know too.
I've got a straight, almost rust free touring wagon project here which I've lost a bit of interest in. But might be re-sparked if I could use this as a donor instead.
Any idea what type of rear diff (& ratio) is in it?

Can you send me some contact details?
I've got a friend who needs to come to Melbourne soon to pick up a gearbox so he can inspect this for me.
