This is sad. That I cant buy it as I cant afford to own a 3rd vehicle. Read carefully.

Owned by a local lady in her 80's in Strathbogie area 22 kms from Euroa. Her husband has gone into aged care. Yes, they are on a farm, yet this little ute likely has never seen 4 wheel driving- true. If it did, she cant recall driving it that way - when asked she said "no, my husband had his own car for that" This beige 1990 Brumby was her shopping cart.

Details-

Will be sold unregistered without plates. Unless you can see some other stress free way of buying the vehicle. She will take the plates off and hand them in and get her 11 months rego back.

Price - $5800 unregistered, no plates.

Kilometres- 171,648 Bare in mind these details about the kms. The car has been driven mostly from Strathbogie to Euroa for shopping a distance of 22 kms. Far enough to get the oil and engine hot. = ideal.

Service= One of the local mechanics serviced the car religiously. Although no receipts were kept he can verify this. she said "I just wrote on the garage wall when it was due and did it".

Housed- always garaged

Year - 1990 4WD.

Engine bay- clean, untampered, no oil leaks that I can see.

Runs- well I didn't even drive it- why would I? If there was a problem she would have had it fixed. I asked her if anything had been replaced like radiator..."oh no, nothing major like that." Get the picture?

Interior- no rips under seat covers seen, dash mat, clean, door trims like new....sorry they are new!!!

Tray- zero rust, carpet there as she "put me shopping in there"

Has bulbar, headlight protectors and tow bar.

Body- tailgate ...NO DENTS!!!. where the tonnuea cover hoops go over the duco there is worn away duco but no rust there. In fact I didn't see one speck of rust or small dent in the body- period. The duco is , with a polish nearly like new.

Tyres- good

Tonneau is very good, no rips etc but there are 6 or so hoops on the back that need replacing. They still are in use (used to put her shopping in the back)

Tailgate hinges are simply new. and perfect inside and out.

Reg No Vic QXP-261

New battery.

Cash deal only. Bring the cash, plates will be taken off and tow the car away. Easiest for this lady and no stress.

Her daughter Fiona will be handling the deal. Her number is 0357 908660.

This older lady wants a quick sale understandably hence sale.

Potential buyers can ring me if they want a chat but bit pointless as I've just told you everything I know. I have no interest in the vehicle, just helping her out. Tony 0438360934

IF NOT SOLD IN A FEW DAYS I WILL BE PUTTING IT ON FACEBOOK

Here it is-

This car was sold. Apparently to a nice older gentleman from Gippsland region. Sold from advertising here only. He will get many years use out of this beauty.

The old lady cried when it left her yard...she told me today.

Hope people see it down Maffra way. It'll have new Vic plates on it and driven by an older gentleman. Congrats to him.

All I know is he is a damn decent man to ring me and thank him for the opportunity which is unheard of these days.

If I didn't have or want my ea81 trike I would have bought it myself without question.

it isn't easy describing a classic almost new and so well cared for car. How do you do that without buyers doubting you?

Apparently the new owner didn't even drive it. He, like I, knew just by looking at it. Amazing little ute.

G'day gents, After reading the ad. by Tweety I sent the link to my mate just nth of Maffra as he said he was looking for a small 4wd ute to wander round in.

The pics and the description spoke for the vehicle and as he prev. has had Subarus he was straight up keen. The rest is history and it's now in his shed.

I had a look yesterday, absolutely immaculate for its age, the prev. lady owner has looked after it so well !

Tweety- excellent desc mate.

The new owner is very pleased with the Brumby and keen to show his farmer mate nearby who has one of similiar age who swears by it. :)

ps...he said, when offered a test drive.. "Just drive it onto the trailer, I can see its so good that my driving won't find anything wrong with it" .... lol

Thanks SambOZ

As you can see, how does one describe a classic top example of a vehicle 25 years old?

The dear lady wanted to pay me for my time for advertising it. He husband is now in aged care so I refused.

Today I checked our mail. A card of thankyou was sent by the lady and inside it was a gift voucher. A wonderful gesture for someone like me on a pension.

Thanks also for passing the ad onto your friend. My engine was reconditioned 5 months ago and I can honestly say that that Brumby's engine was just as clean. And I'm certain she didn't go to the bother cleaning it!!! Was that was since new.

Cheers Tony

All good tweety, nice outcomes and good to see the previous proud owners pride in the vehicle passed on to another Subaru enthusiast, I know it will be well looked after.
