[QLD] - Wrecking - 87 RX turbo
Posted: Wed Apr 13, 2016 3:02 am
Been a long time since I've been on this forum, but due to divorce nothing happened with my previous thread. Anyway, I'll start again...
but be warned, I have quite literally not looked at the car close than from 5m away since late 2013. I'm sure it'd start first go with a fresh battery as it always has, but I can tell it's quite dirty and the rust has become a bit worse. There may also be vines growing in the engine bay lol, but nothing some effort wont fix

Firstly, I am open to offers of completely buying the car rather than wrecking it.

Now the details (straight copy from old post):
Well I've finally got the car to the front yard (started first time after sitting for close to 2 years!) and I'm now ready to start to wreck the car. Everything is on offer, however i want to part the interior first - basically i want to keep the car on it's wheels for the time being.
Some details of the car:
1987 RX turbo (march compliance), genuine BR0BE RX turbo, silver in colour.
Engine goodies:
- Flapper air flow meter
- MPFI engine. I swapped out the low compression engine for a non-turbo MPFI engine and bolted on all the turbo bits – gives great power from the high compression engine, and starts first time every time. Couldn’t ask for a better engine except for what sounds like a spun bearing
- 2.5” exhaust from the turbo back
- Liberty WAIC setup
- I have a MAF turbo engine loom and computer sitting around for whoever buys it if they want to upgrade. Also have the MAF itself and plenty of other EA82 engine bits which the buyer is welcome to take
- No exhaust in the coolant – heads and head gaskets are excellent – 3rd generation heads too
- Walbro high flow fuel pump
- Twin electrical fans
- Custom pod filter setup
Other mechanical bits:
- Lifted 4” all round
- King springs all round (fronts have less than 5000k’s)
- Nolethane bushings all round
- 14” wheels with 27x8.5 tyres, however 1 has a slow leak
- 14” Performance Marquise wheels
- Near new brake discs and pads (both front and back less than 5000k’s)
Interior bits:
- New roof liner
- New floor carpet
- New ADR compliant racing-style seats. Some may find them a bit too snug, but I’m just 180cm tall and 100kg and I like the snugness and find them comfortable
- New rear parcel shelf tray with slots for speakers – black fabric covering on it
- Good condition interior elsewhere for the age. Couple of small rips in the vinyl on the back seat, but otherwise very good
- Air cond installed, but no pipes connected up or filled with gas
- Nice surround for the alpine head unit
- SAAS sports steering wheel
Other bits:
- Bull bar
- HID bulbs in the headlights for low beam only
- Nitestalker 170 spot lights (combo and pencil) for the high beam (and a bit of electrical trickery to make this work and keep the low beams on when the high beams are on).
- Yellow Subaru fog lights (never installed)
- A standard bash guard modified to fit with the lift
- New windscreen (although there is some pitting on it)
- Pretty bonnet scoop right above the turbo to help cool it
- Body ok, but little bits rust around, but certainly nothing bad – probably a bit better than average
- Tow bar
- Roof racks
- Window tinting
There are probably things I have forgotten to mention, so if you have any questions certainly feel free to ask.
Viewing of the car is more than welcome (McDowall - Brisbane north side)
