Geez! That would almost be a collectors item Paul.
It's the first time that I have ever seen one.

Thanks TOONGA, it is going up on gumtree later, just thought I'd offer it first to the Subaru group.

Is that it or a file photo lifted from the internet ?

Very nice detail but out of my budget.

Is it RHD?

Yes, this picture is of the actual car. I have more if anyone is interested in purchasing it.

She is an awesome car and one I didn't think I'd ever sell but times are changing and 95% of my cars are going to be sold off.

I wonder though if an EJ conversion would "ruin" it? In the US with more of them, not so much, but rare here. Was toying buying the wrecked one in Adelaide, but I've got too many projects :p, and now a kid (though he's almost at the age of climbing into the seat himself...)

The good thing about the EJ20T conversion in the L.Series models, is there is no chassis mods required, so you could always keep the original motor setup for reversal (if anyone ever felt the need) but I'd be supremely surprised if anyone even noticed the difference.

I too have way too many projects and time is getting shorter and shorter, so pretty much all of my collection is being sold off.

biggest issues are the hydraulic clutch and getting the shifter to work. The EJ converted RX turbo I bought 15 years ago need the trans tunnel cut out a bit for the shifter linkage to fit through, put a gaping hole put in the firewall to mount up the clutch setup. It was done really poorly and was a heavy mother.
I have toyed with the idea of using the original clutch cable to pull on a pivot, which then pushes on a remote mounted clutch master somewhere else in the engine bay (prob rear left corner where the clutch cable would reach without being modified). then it's really reversible.

Oh.. seems odd. I have not had to modify any L.Series tunnels on any of the EJ conversions I've done. I wonder what they were doing that was different?

With the clutch setup, I've been able to use the push clutches from the later wrx models.

which gearstick did you use? This one had the WRX stick and a shortened linkage.

Any pics of hydro clutch setup?

I use the EA shifter and just weld up the bottom stay off the EJ box on to the EA one. The top EA selector rod connects straight up to the EJ box.

Hydro setup? Never used a water one... hahahaha.. jokes but sorry no pics of any hydraulic ones, as I've kept the cable setup and use the later model EJ25T push clutch setup, not the early EJ20T pull clutches

Thanks for the info about the clutch.

I hope the car went to a good home. Will we see it again on here?
