Wanted Subaxtreme Bull Bar for Gen 1 Ser 2 Liberty

Post by Ray Hunnam » Fri Apr 17, 2015 10:23 am

Greetings

Subject says it all. I have been looking for one of these rareies for quite a few years to fit my Bash Car.

Had a few leads on some but unfortunately they panned out. Reading how Liberty Valance got lucky with his Forester recently and scored both front and rear Subaxtreme Bars. So here goes.

Anyone got one and willing to sell. Any thoughts of a bar from another year capable of being adapted???

Would like the Subaxtreme as it would complement my subax bash plate, but if someone has a similiar bar I would be interested.

I live at Penrith, NSW

try getting in touch with grant rogers (subaman) on these forums. If you can't message me and i will give you his number.

I have one of a handful of subaextreme bars made for gen1 liberty. they are extremely rare so i don't like your chances if grant has sold his.

Oh well I will keep trying. You never know he may upgrade and finally not have a use for it.

Subaxtreme only ever made 4 gen 1 Liberty front bars, there's a red one in Maryborough, there's Grant's, there's a black one in Brisbane which was last spotted many many years ago. It's anyone's guess where the last one is, here's hoping you are the lucky person to find it. Probably sitting in a wreckers somewhere any no-body knows how rare it is !

That's funny because the guy who made them can only remember 4 being made.

That said, the red liberty I mentioned above was stolen and written off recently. The car has been recovered and will be purchased back from the insurance company just to recover the subaxtreme front bar. Owner is unsure of future plans for the bar for now.....

maybe you are right then. Here's the history as i know it.

camo originally owned the HD ally bar (5mm all ally) that grant, and now legacytt has. it was on his red ser2 sedan. I remember seeing it driving round UQ in the early 2000's. it blew me away! The red car was in an accident, and the insurance company replaced the bar with a sports bar (3mm ally, steel subframe)

The HD bar was repaired, sold to grant, and now legacytt

the red car was sold with a standard bumper, and the sports bar went on a black legacy GT sedan. Probably the black one you are referring to. Camo sold this about 6 years ago. I almost bought it (but i know how he drives)

I have a ser2 sports bar on my car, modified to suit the ser1 front end. I bought it off a guy in tasmania and shipped it up to brisbane. I think the car was from tamworth originally.

The 4th bar i can think of is the colour coded one up in maryborough.

Anyone else know of any other bars out there?
