M8 I share ur pain trying to find a manual steering rack, here are a few pointers when deciding what to do.
Firstly get it fully reconditioned by a reputable company (with warranty) make sure the boots are clamped on with steel clips (not cable ties) make sure ur ball joints have no or little movement.
I have been stung getting a steering rack by both the wreckers (claimed steering rack in good cond) and the mechanic who recond the rack with cable ties and the ball joints were not replaced (F/R shot and F/L on the way out) $600 later with parts and labor I am going to have to buy a second handy and get that one fully recond with warranty and kiss goodbye my previous $600.
Do it right the first time and save ur $$$$$.
Hope that helps............
Cheers WayneO........................

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Yup this is the one I just had done, got back to Kalbarri and put it up on ramps and had a good look underneath and F/R Ball joint is RS, which all in all is no big deal except I paid ok $ to have it done right the first time and expect to have a safe ride home.RSR 555 wrote:Was this the one you just had done Wayne? and what Kelvin mentioned?
Change of pace here, caught up with Bennie during his quick visit to Kalbarri and mentioned I might be interested in a trip to S.A, his ears pricked up and seemed somewhat interested in a lifted L Series run, who knows might be able to sway him to pop over and spend a few days in S.A.
