Matt definitely pick up a car at Pickles hey, best value way to do it.
Otherwise I know a guy who has a good EJ22 (or at least did a few weeks ago).

I can knock up the adaptor plate and flywheel for ya, I can do them fairly quick now I rekon.

hey im looking for an opinion. mainly about vehicles from pickles auctions.

i did already purchase a lib wreck from pickles but turns out its not conversion worthy. dont really wanna make the same mistake again.

http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/vehic ... -552059167

this is the vehicle in question that i want. i had a look at it and the rad and particularly thermo fans are busted onto the engine pulleys - do you think that this would harm the engine? oil and air filter looks fresh. the bad thing about the auctions is that you cant start up the engines before hand- only after you win it. and what if it doesnt start at all for whatever reason!

i really cant afford to for this one not to work, if i bought it. seems promising tho. all the other libertys ive looked at have way higher km's and dont seem the best for a swap either.

and how many other people have bought cars from pickles and they turned out fine- engine wise?

Mine was fine (WackyBug's) - had about 250,000kms on it. It's a gamble unfortunately.

if the pulley covers are hit there is a very good chance the motor is damaged . IMO Best to keep looking for one thats been hit in the side or rear keeping the motor in good order

I've known that feeling before mate, its not good eh? First thing I did to sort my fix was a quick 4wd in some nearby bush :D

Take your time in picking a car for the donor, all you can really do is look at the oil and the wiring to make sure nothing is damaged.

Its the same at the pick a part joints, you can't start them til you get the engine home and fitted to the car...

Its all one big game as AndrewT said.

Cheers
