Frog, are they discontinued or only available from Japan? I would have a new one here but I have a use for it. I could provide a second hand unit of considerable age.

That's weird, I noticed there were 2 different options for that hose no. 5 when I ordered one last week. Mine doesn't have that valve thing there so maybe it's situated somewhere else or there's something else that does the same job?

The hose goes into a water jacket under the carburetor, I assume it's to operate a water choke. Early ea81's had a manual choke and didn't have the t off here from the heater line from memory. Earlier ea81's had a cross pipe to transfer the water between the block halves. It was incorporated into the block casting in later models. There were minor variences over the years as Subaru made improvements to the engine... Also the rear heater hoses changed for the left hand drive models.
